Three Visualizations to Attract Abundance
We’ve all heard how visualizing is a key tool for attracting what we desire, but how and what to visualize isn’t always clear. This week we’ll talk about three visualizations you can practice to generate abundance, and in a few weeks, we’ll devote two newsletters to visualization itself and how to do it effectively. So on to this week’s topic: what to visualize when you want to visualize wealth? The trick seems to be picking an image that resonates with your own subconscious. You’ll know when you find such an image, because you will really “get into it” as you contemplate it – you’ll find yourself imaging easily, and with feeling.
The subconscious mind thinks in images, as our night-dreaming demonstrates. That’s why thinking images TO the subconscious is so effective – when we do this, we’re talking its language, so to speak. Visualizing something you want is like dropping a seed into deeper mind, where it germinates and grows until it breaks through the surface of reality, to sprout as a manifestation in the world.
The ‘Grow Your Own’ Approach
Any image for wealth that resonates with you is a good one. For starters, try asking your subconscious to provide one. Lie down and close your eyes, concentrate on relaxing your body part by part, from toes to the top of your head. Then focus on slow, deep breathing for a couple of minutes. Then just notice your awareness itself, the quietness. In the relaxed, drowsy state this exercise produces, ask your subconscious to give you an image that generates wealth. Then just lie there and see what pops into your imagination. It will probably be just the image you need. If you don’t like what you get, ask for another.
When you find an image that’s effective for you, you will have an “ah yes!” reaction. Then use that image (running it like a mental movie) to fall asleep on whenever you take a nap or go to bed at night. You can also contemplate the image just as you start to wake up in the morning. Doing these things will send the message to your deeper mind that abundance is desired and accepted. The universe, with which your deeper mind is intimately linked, will then go to work to bring more abundance to you!
That’s our first suggestion for visualizing wealth. If you aren’t the “grow-your-own” type of person and prefer a prepackaged visualization, you can also try these images on for size, to grow your abundance:
- The Lantern (or Magnet) Visualization
Imagine a tall iron lamp post just outside your front door. The post is so tall it towers over all surrounding houses and buildings. At the top of the post is a place for a hanging lamp, or for a large magnet (you decide which image you prefer). Imagine standing beside the post, holding this lamp or large magnet. The magnet or lamp represents your intention of abundance. Imagine a sturdy ladder or set of stairs next to the lamp post. Imagine effortlessly gliding up the ladder or stairs, holding your lamp or magnet high in one hand as you do so. Effortlessly hang the lamp or magnet from the top of the post. Look out over the skyline, and know that your lamp or magnet is sending out signals, day and night, to the edge of the horizon and far over the horizon. Your signal is being noticed and received by all the people and things in the world that resonate with your dream, that are needed to fulfill it. Know that as they receive your signal, they are being drawn toward you, right to your very lamp post. Imagine these people or things gliding toward your home and arriving on your doorstep, all of them together, everything you need for your dream come true. Delight in the wonderful feeling of your plentiful abundance.
- The Floodgates Visualization
Imagine standing beside a basin of rock or land. The sides of the basin are slanty but not steep. Part or most of the basin is empty, but there is some water in the bottom (you decide how much). On the far side of the basin are two closed gates: these are the floodgates (a dam). On the other side of the floodgates is a vast quantity of water – it could be an ocean or a great river. Imagine these things clearly before moving to the next part: the opening of the floodgates. See the gates open in toward the basin, toward you, as the water begins to pour in. Watch the basin fill up with the abundance of inrushing water. See animals come down to the water to drink. See yourself walking or running into the water – drinking it, splashing, floating, swimming, playing in it. This water inside the basin represents your abundance, your personal fullness of life. The ocean or great river on the other side of the floodgates is the infinite abundance of the universe. The floodgates are your subconscious mental blocks to wealth. Seeing them open sends a message to your subconscious that it must let go of these old restrictions. Bathing and playing in the waters of abundance sends the message to the universe that your life is to be blessed with joyous fullness, plenty, and life-giving sustenance!
- The “Ship Comes In” Visualization
Imagine a ship filled with everything you desire. The ship can be in the ocean, or you may prefer to see it in the sky. Imagine everything you want being on that ship – all the things you will have when you are completely abundant. See the ship slowly move toward you – see it descend from the sky into your back yard where you are standing, or see it come into port as you stand on the pier. When the ship has arrived, climb on board and happily explore its contents. Move from room to room – seeing, touching, hearing, smelling, or tasting all the wonderful things that have been brought to you. Then imagine taking the things off your ship and effortlessly moving them into your home or onto your property – or imagine a moving crew doing that for you. Then see, touch, all your exquisite treasures again, feeling the joy of your dream come true!
