Gratitude and the Law of Attraction
“The more gratefully we fix our minds on the Supreme when good things come to us, the more good things we will receive, and the more rapidly they will come; and the reason simply is that the mental attitude of gratitude draws the mind into closer touch with the source from which the blessings come.”
- Wallace D Wattles, The Science of Getting Rich
Why should we be Grateful?
Gratitude for what we have in our life is a matter of such fundamental and crucial importance because it brings us into alignment with what the Universe wants for us.
First, we have to believe that the Universe, or our Higher Being, or God, or the Genii – as in The Secret DVD (whatever name you have in your heart), gives you everything you desire. Then we have to relate ourselves to it by a feeling of deep and profound gratitude.
"Whatever we think about and thank about we bring about"-
Dr John Demartini
To quote some of the teachers in The Secret DVD:
Dr Joe Vitale, MSC.D, Metaphysician
“Start making a list of things to be grateful for – start with that, because this shifts your energy, it starts to shift your thinking, where before this exercise you might be focusing on what you don’t have, and you might be focusing on your complaints, and you might be focusing on whatever the problems are. When you do this exercise you start to be grateful for all the things you feel good about.
As soon as you start to feel differently about what you already have, you will start to attract more of the good things, more of the things you can be grateful for …… Focus on what you already have that you are grateful for”.
Dr John F Demartini, D.C Bsc– Philosopher
“Whatever we think about and thank about we bring about”.
Marci Shimoff, MBA, Author
“Gratitude is absolutely the way to bring more into your life”.
James Arthur Ray, Philosopher
“It’s been such a powerful exercise – every morning to get up and say thank you, every morning …… what am I grateful for …… and I’m not just thinking about them …… I’m feeling the feelings of gratitude”.
Law of Gratitude
There is a Law of Gratitude, and it is absolutely necessary that you should observe the law, if you are to get the results you seek.
Create your own Gratitude Journal
Many years ago my sister-in-law gave me a Gratitude Journal. Since then, I have not only used it myself and created astonishing outcomes in my life; but I have copied the idea and given Gratitude Journals to numerous friends.
- Purchase a nice notebook from the stationery store
- Print a copy of this quotation from Sarah Ban Breathnach
- Paste this on the inside cover of your Gratitude Journal, and begin writing in it today
You will be amazed at how your life will change if you follow this simple piece of advice from the teachers in The Secret DVD
The Gratitude Journal
In her book ‘Simple Abundance’, Sarah Ban Breathnach describes how we can enrich our life by creating a daily gratitude journal.
‘Each night before I go to bed, I write down five things that I can be grateful about that day. Real life isn’t always going to be perfect or go our way, but the recurring acknowledgment of what is working in our lives can help us not only to survive but surmount our difficulties.
Simplicity, order, harmony, beauty and joy – all other principles that can transform your life will not blossom and flourish without gratitude…You simply will not be the same person two months from now after consciously giving thanks each day for the abundance that exists in your life. And you will have set in motion an ancient spiritual law: the more you have and are grateful for, the more will be given you.
As you focus on the abundance rather than on the lack in your life, you will be designing a wonderful new blueprint for the future. This sense of fulfillment is gratitude at work, transforming your dreams into reality. Begin this day to explore and integrate this beautiful, life-affirming principle into your life, and the miracle you have been seeking will unfold to your wonder and amazement’.
